403b?

403b is an IRS code  that defines  the retirement plan used by public entities.  The 403b is just the designation on the account.  The 403b can be pre-tax or after tax (Roth 403b)  We can help you decide on which is better for you. The invesntments can vary as what is in the 403b could be mutual mutual funds, variabkle annuities, fixed annuities.  This depends on your district's plan. We can help you  get started or consolidating your current 403bs in a managable account. If you use a pre-tax (Traditional 403b)  it will reduce your income this lowering your income tax.

example   $500 a month into a 403b deducted from your check.

$500 a month equals $6000 for the year, this contribution lowers your income by the $6000.

If you are in the 20% tax bracket   it saved you $1200 in taxes.  $6000X 20% = $1200

if you change your withholding  for tax correctly  , you will be contributing $500 a month to the 403b  But only feel $400 less in take home pay, if you are in teh 20% bracket.  This  is hypothetical and should be done on an individual basis
